About Me

My home is in the Northern Front Range of Colorado, about an hour north of Denver. My wife, Elizabeth, and I have three kids, Jackie, Ryker, and Alex. Our daughter, Jackie, lives in New England, Ryker is 18, and Alex is 15. In addition to all the things life brings us, we spend time riding our motorcycles, barbecuing and watching old movies.

I retired from the United States Army as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer in 1998. I missed the camaraderie of the military and volunteered to serve as a civilian contractor in Iraq during 2004 and 2005. While there, I had an awesome experience with a group of people I met. You can read about this experience in the article, Cool in the Furnace.

I am a member of the Affiliate Faculty of Colorado Christian University, where I teach a Worldviews course and other courses in Biblical studies. I have a bachelors degree from CCU and a Master of Science degree in Education with an emphasis in Adult Education from Capella University and a Graduate Certificate in Theology from Denver Seminary. I recently completed a Master of Arts degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Knox Theological Seminary and I am currently attending Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary studying for a Doctorate in Educational Ministry.

I am an ordained pastor and served as Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Windsor and the Interim Pastor of Kersey Community Church in 2010-2011. I also work with other ministries preaching and teaching Bible classes wherever I am asked. I have a passion to share my testimony and help others recognize God in their life.

I believe God transforms life through education, and hope to work with churches developing adult education programs that are life changing.

If I can ever be of service to you, do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached via email at jimharger@me.com.

Blessings,

-jim
